I've been lurking for a year or so and thought I'd post my first screen. BTW, I love all the work the GUI folks do around here. Outstanding stuff.

Here's the shot

Theme - Metal Milk 1.5
Running Adium, Quicksilver, iTunes, Statoo
Desktop - My Own

Nothing very intersting here, just wanted to get involved.

I'll second that. I'm pretty much a glorified hack when it comes to the GUI excellence most of the guys here exhibit but I have a place, here, nonetheless.

So if a guy like me is welcome here, you're in!

To dislike Sinatra is a sign of highly questionable taste. To dislike the Beatles is a serious character flaw.

Makki, I think in this case, the comment was meant to be one of envy, not of an insult. And it is torture to show us a peak of FearPlat like that so I'll second the comment made (in an envious manner, not insulting).

To set the record straight : you will find the Dock icons on my site, because I feel they're a perfect match to the theme I've been modding PLASTER.
Please note that the icon design is not mine though, but heylove's (it's all in the Plaster ReadMe file).

As for the folder icons, I'd be interested too (Puft ?)

Is there a forum for modded guikit downloads? It's pretty frustrating to come here hoping there would be a guikit for download, then get discouraged because they are all just for viewing screenshots. Are there any in particular I'm talking about? Sure. There is the alien guikit, etc. but it seems as if these themes are not are not completed.

My questions are:
Are these kits going to be available to the public?
If so are they posted to this forum or another forum?

The modded kits that you are talking about are for personal use. The person who modded them doesn't have permission from the author to redistribute them. As for the Alien Ware mod, The Skins Factory said no go, it's owned by Alien Computers and is not coming out for the mac. Your best bet would be to learn Photoshop and start modding your own themes.

Thanks for the info Dave-o, wish the news would have been different. I know and love photoshop, I jusy haven't gotten into creating themesbecause it seems really difficult. Is there a beginner's guide?

there are others here who can really address this better than me but this is the source, for ThemePark and the resources list and tutorial.
http://www.geekspiff.com/software/themepark/

or you can try my trusted frustrated method . . . don't read the "Read Me First" files and just start building... you will give up in a matter of hours.

Honestly - try a MOD first. Change a menu color, change the hue. Its mindnumbing but you will learn a lot about the construction.

Good luck - its good stuff.

BatMax.. Listen to eyevaan.. I have done a handful of mods, never a full blown theme from scratch.. it's really not that hard, just takes time and patience... the PS work is the easy part of the process, i would recommend using the export/import feature of TP to make things go more smoothly... Best of luck..

There is a beginners tutorial at www.digitalramen.com aswell as some useful info at www.switchboard.com

But you learn the most just by doing and if you still got problems just ask one of the pro themers - Email, AIM, or here. All of them are really nice people and do not bite at all. I can say this from my own experience.

Hmm. So when you say that Puft is included in the kit, does that mean that ShapeShifter 2 supports icon-changing, or just that the iconset is an extra in the package?

Actually, my alienGUI theme is based in concept to the Alienware icons (blue, gray, black) but contain no alienware specific elements. That being said, it will be released someday....

Brushed Metal theme by Max
Spider wallpaper (probably came from Pixel Girl Presents
Adium skin called iTunes from the Adium X(tras) site
Some icons from Xicons (Wolfenstein, The Sims, Word)

Also, just to show off the theme: Finder Menu and Open Menu

I'm really just in love with this Brushed Metal theme. I bought ShapeShifter last night with the intention of running Rhapsodized, but I've since downloaded Milk and Brushed Metal and I like them better.

I would love to modify themes, but I don't know how to MOD an existing theme. When I load someones theme through shapeshifter, it appears as if I am editing THAT theme in Themepark, however it turns out when I make my edits and export to GUIkit and load the theme edit into SS it turns out to have my mods with some other theme... it's not the normal aqua exactly, not sure which theme it is.

Any ideas on what to do? I'd love to tweak specific colors here and there for my own personal use.

What you have to do is select "Merge With Installed Elements" under "Theme"
