I have had this happen numerous times now from 2 different people with Verizon Wireless were their text messages do not ever make it to my phone. We were sitting next to each other and I had full reception and I never got it. I usually get them 95% of the time but when I send/receive about 50 text messages a day it's a real pain when I don't get all of them because then I don't know if the other person has replied or not. Anyone else with this problem?

Edit: This is an iPhone 3G with AT&T in the U.S. btw.

You know, I think I am having the same problem too. I tried to set up Aol Instant Messenger to forward IMs to my phone, but when it tries to send me a text message, I never get it.

Last night I tried to register my phone with Facebook and again, it tried to send me a text but I never got it.

I just ported my number over from Sprint to my iPhone, and when I enter my number in Facebook and select AT&T as my carrier, it still saves the number as "Sprint".

Did you do a similar port?

Yea I ported from Verizon Wireless. This problem only seems to happen with ported numbers and getting texts from other carriers other then AT&T. The thread I posted is now up to 10 pages of people with the same issue.
