I currently own a Al PB 1.67 15inch, 2gig RAM and 64mg ATI 9700. Having determined that the photoediting I do on Photoshop is plenty fast on my G4, I have decided to invest my money in a high quality monitor. I don't "need" anything huge (something around 20 inches), and would rather buy quality over quantity. Apart from Apple Cinema displays, do people have suggestions? Thanks.

Dell... their 20" is the same panel as Apple's (and $289 list for the DVI-only model), and their 24" is cheap too.

It appears that Dell is a good choice -- great to hear.
I went to the website and noticed that they have two different 20inch widescreen displays available:
(1) 2007WFP
(2) E207WFP
The E207WFP is $60 cheaper, which is nice, but it appears to not have an adjustable stand and limited connectivity. Is it (a) worth it to get the more expensive 2007WFP and (b) necessary to get the 2007WFP because of the available connections on my PB G4 1.67 15 inch.
I can afford the more expensive one, but it is always nice to save a little money.
Thanks for everyones help!

The E207WFP's only connection (DVI) is also the only connection on your PowerBook. So if you don't need the adjustable stand, I'd go with it.

I would have gotten a Dell monitor, but I can't stand the sound it makes...google those monitors and read responses before you buy.

I have to agree with the majority; Dell is among the best you can get for the price. You might also consider ViewSonic as well... can't vouch for Apple. Their monitors have good image quality, but they're waaaayy overpriced.
If you're going to be doing a lot of image editing/ color correcting though, I think you should consider getting a CRT over an LCD. They take up a lot more room, but definitely have their advantages. I just recently replaced one with a larger, widescreen LCD. Color was definitely truer on the ol' CRT (LCD's are just inherently too bright & saturated, and I think that fools your eye), and viewing angle is a little bit of an issue, where it's never an issue on a CRT. Hope that helps!

Many DELL monitors make a high-pitched whine--yours, apparently, does not.
