As the thread title describes. Mail is being deleted—specifically from .Mac—after becoming one month old. I started realizing I couldn't find e-mails I knew should be there, but it hit me today, and I checked Mail last night that was a day before becoming a month old to confirm, and it is now gone today.

No, my preferences are not set to do this. I have it set up to store the e-mail on the .Mac server, but to never delete it, not after one month as it's doing. Is there some preference on .Mac that I have missed? Something in Mail itself? Preferences I can trash to try and fix it? This is a pain in the ass. I don't want to have to download the mail like I used to and not have copies on the server just to prevent it from deleting after a month. If that would even work—who knows?

Any ideas, folks? Similar problems? Thanks for any help.

Why not use IMAP instead of POP? POP is a mess if you want to leave stuff on the server.

IMAP with .Mac? How do I go about setting it up? What's the main difference anyway?

The default for .Mac is IMAP. You must have somehow created a POP account.

Just create a new .Mac account, and enter your username/password. It's pretty much automatic. I'd suggest you first "deactivate" (NOT NOT NOT delete!) your POP .Mac account and then go about it, to see.
