Don't let those couple of viral skits fool you... SNL sucks mongoose nuts.

I wanted to checkout the Peyton Manning show because I like football. In NY, we have his brother on the Giants... so I wanted to see if he would get on. His family history and millions of commercials may have possible made a good show.

SNL is freaking HORRIBLE. The opening skit was really not to the level of what a opening skit should be. It was a topical Bush joke concerning the lawyer scandal but it made no sense. It was sad. Pretty much all of the show was that caliber.

Peyton beaning the kids was sort of funny but it was IMO predictable. The BMW commercial was stupid and made little sense, ditto for the Bronx talk show thing... ugh. The "300 Movie" skit thing was the worse. It was frustrating because it had no punchline. To be fair the best of the sad bunch may have been the "Lockeroom Pep Talk" one but it was a little meandering in the beginning.

SNL = worst show on TV. It's sad and pathetic because from what I remember of Mad TV... It was funnier than current SNL and I always thought Mad TV was pretty bad.

I tuned in for a few minutes. I decided to watch a rerun of Jackass on MTV that I have seen a few times instead. It was that bad.

SNL isn't worth watching anymore, regardless of the guest.

Agreed.

I only tuned it to see what they would have Manning doing. And just like the rest of the cast, nothing funny.

It's pathetic, I want my hour or so back. I wonder why they can't hire better writers or something? Conan and lots of Comedy Central shows do a good job.

I used to love SNL, but once Tina Fey left, I just lost interest in SNL.

Funny. I said the same thing about Belushi, Akroyd, Murphy, Crystal, Lovitz, Short, Miller, ad infinitum. SNL comes and goes.

Didn't Conan use to be a writter for SNL?

You thought Tina Fey was funny?

The last great cast was the late 90's crew. When they all phased out en route to bigger things, the show began its decline. IMO, they'll never top the "Bad Boys of SNL" era.

[EDIT] Out of all the cast members to fire, why Chris Parnell??? I thought he was one of the brighter spots in the current cast.

SNL is one of those shows that gets really good for a while, then gets really bad for a while. We're currently in a bad phase. It will come around again when they get a new crop of actors and writers. They have their moments these days, but mostly its pretty bad. MadTV seems to do much better at being consistent. They aren't the best sketch comedy show out there, but they seem to stay at that so-so level.

You know somewhere out there Horatio Sanz is reading this thread with a smile on his face.

Slick shoes?! Are you crazy?!
