Distribute First (No Exponents)
.10 = .06 - .06x + .15x
.10 = .06 + .09x
.04 = .09x
.04/.09 = x
x = .4 repeating.
Right?

.10 = .06(1-x) + .15x
Distribute the .06:
.10 = .06 - .06x + .15x
Combine the x terms:
.10 = .06 + .09x
Subtract .06 from both sides:
.04 = .09x
Divide both sides by 0.9:
x = 0.44444444....
In the future, do your own homework.

I'm not sure being able to solve this qualifies you as a geek. Ninth-grade graduate, to be sure, but I don't know about geek.

I started algebra in 5th grade. Was doing geometry in 7th grade. For whatever reason, I ended up in geometry again for 9th grade? My high school was weird. I opted out of AP calc cuz I hate math. All it did was piss me off when I couldn't get the answer. Probably why I liked art the best. Every time I messed up my art teacher would just say, "Leave it or work with it. You can't really mess up in art."
