ok this is going to sound a little naive, but how well do the generic inks work with the epson printers? the epsons are soo damn expensive, but i dont want to destroy my printer.

We use Rhinotek inks in our Epson 850. They work well (we didn't like the Amazon brand inks we tried) and you get a lot out of them. They're also a lot cheaper than the Epson stuff. I've had good experiences with them letting us buy in bulk too for further discounts.

I've been getting generic (Chinese) replacements from a local warehouse for a very good price. The black ones have worked well and lasted a good time. I've not tried a colour cartridge yet (stay tuned, I need one now.)

i've purchased the ink packs from ink4art.com for a 740i

i had trouble with the color inks for about a month, one color wasn't working, but i think that was my fault, i inserted and removed the cartridge on accident, a big no-no. insert it and forget about it.
i'd definately recommend them for black inks, no probs there.

I own an Epson Stylus Color 740 and also have had NO PROBLEMS with the cartridges purchased from ink4art.com
