I tried to email a video clip I made but the phone wouldn't let me send it. Now the status bar at the bottom has been stuck for over a week. It says "Sending 1 of 2" but won't go away. Has any one else experienced this?

I haven't experienced this problem, but have you reset your phone? Not "restored," just "reset."

I've tried resetting it, no luck. Also deleted the account then added it back. Still no luck.

If you have deleted and re-added the account, and it still doesn't work, it could be an outgoing mail issue. Who is your mail client, and are you on POP or IMAP?

Kyle is on track on this. You've done everything you can to completely disconnect your phone from the process, so the problem cannot be IN your phone. It's almost definitely the server end of your mail process and/or your ISP.

Thanks. One account is gmail and the other is yahoo. I think they're both on IMAP but I'm not positive.

Is there a file size limit on either of your accounts that you may be exceeding?

In gmail, go to settings and ensure IMAP is on. Then, on your iPhone, look at mail settings. The incoming server should be 'imap.gmail.com' and the outgoing server 'smtp.gmail.com'.

Gmail sets up as IMAP on an iPhone by default. I don't think Yahoo! does.

My earlier post was about the possible maximum file size for attachments; Yahoo! does have a limit of a total of 10MB for all attachments on an email. Gmail is limited to either 20MB or 25MB, depending on which item in their Help you read-either way, it's not terribly much when compared to the size some videos can be.

Well, the iphone already trims the video down before sending so i'm not sure why it's acting up.

So is every one else emailing videos with out any problems?

I have 3g and tried to send a video to my sister. It got stuck too and worse my phone kept turning off andon .I have a jail broken i phone. To solve the issue i went to iFile (dl from cydia) through there i navigated to mailbox and erased the stuck file from the outbox. It worked for me.

Nancym's tactic seems to be a good way to go, assuming iFile works on your phone-I don't know if it works on un-broken phones...

I erased the emails from my outbox and they went away but still, this is something that definitely needs to be fixed. Glad i'm not the only one...

Have you tried sending a very short video clip to see if it works? It doesn't sound like you've actually ruled out the possibility of a file size limit with your email provider(s) being the problem.

Very short videos seem to work so I guess it is a file size limit issue. Not sure why Apple's automatic trim feature doesn't cut them down small enough though.
