Hey folks.

Hope you can help.

I have a limited budget for the purchase of a new Mac Pro.

My question is this.. Should I get the

1) Mac Pro 3.0 ghz and the 7300gt.
or
2) Mac Pro 2.66 ghz and the X1900

I will be getting 4gb with both.

It will be primarily used as a graphics machine. Photoshop, After Effects, Motion, Aperture... with very (Very!) little 3D. No gaming.

Is the increase in graphics card worth the decrease in processing power?

Thanks!

David

I would go with the 2.66 is I were you. The X1900XT is quite the leap over the 7300GT, and the extra .34Ghz/processor won't do much good for you in the end.

Motion and Aperture will benefit more from the 1900XT that the 3.0GHz chips, cheaper too I think?

My 2.66 with 1900XT should arrive Monday
