I think zigzag always amazes me with how impartial, neutral and reasoned he can be to even the most heated flamefest.

Fat Barry should be an honorary moderator, with all the priviledges. I don't even think he has 25 posts yet, either, but he keeps me on my toes in a good way.

If he thought a thread needed closing, it probably does.
When you were young and your heart was an open book, you used to say "live and let live."
But if this ever changing world, in which we live in, makes you give in and cry, say "live and let die."

That's very kind of you, but I'm sure that some with whom I've had battles would disagree. I've had more than my share of lapses in reason and/or diplomacy.

Mac Zealot has never done anything rude to me, and largely the only things I've heard him say over AIM about the lounge is being sick of childish people... which makes sense since he never posts but there's people like you who still rag on him... not sure what exactly he's done but your additude sucks.

As for my mod choises... possibly lerk, I might go with boots too, he's generally pretty level headed far as I've sceen.

tell me about it. Only one thing worse than an annoying immature poster, and that's the guy that follows him around complaining about every post.

Do we need another mod? What's wrong with the one we've got? Is he ill?

Y'know, I put myself forward for a mod position here (Games) a while back. I've been very thankful that I was turned down.

The place I normally moderate has tools to control troublemakers. For instance, we have the ability to enforce a ban. This place doesn't, and therefore is uncontrollable. Y'gotta be crazy to try to moderate under these conditions.
Is this a good place for an argument?

Lerkfish? you people are all clearly mad. a moderator of a Lounge like this, where so many religious and political threads happen, should not be so openly politically or religiously biased. sure, he's a good guy, etc, but i don't think MacNN want someone who throws tantrums and then PM's people, calling them names, when they don't like something. that's not really the right attitude, is it?

if anything, they just need to get tougher and kick/ban more people who ask for it, but actually enforce the ban. there's no point in banning one user name, when that user has about 5 other names, but not banning the other 5 names.

also, vB has more admin features than phpBB. i admin on both, so i know. having the features is one thing. using them is clearly another, as proven @ NN

the reason so many people are still around after being banned, is because they know they can pretty much just walk back in here and just carry on. i'll ban someone's account as many times as they care to sign up again, if i've already banned them for a reason. also, if someone obviously uses a few usernames, i'm banning that person, so all his/her usernames are banned.

well that is a ridiculous solution. that's like trying to get rid of porn on the internet by having ISPs individually filter out each porn site as new URLs are discovered.

I'd say tintub would bring a good sense balance and common sense to the position of Mod.

I'd leave MacNN and prepare for the end of the world the day Zimp is made Mod - no offence intended

but as far as I know, the mods they have already do a fairly wonderful job.

I think that I tend to be a pretty open-minded and fair fella (though I also apparently haven't made enough of an impact around here to jump into anyone else's mind as a nominee).

But I'm not sure I would want the job.

I couldn't tell from your post with the mad face if you were mad at what I said about you being human.

If so, I apologize. (tried to send this to you via PM, but your mailbox is full)
---------------
On a related note, to Philzilla, I HAD sent you an apology a while back regarding that PM incident, which you never acknowledged so don't know if you received it at the time.
You're still upset about it which makes me wonder if the apology got through at all.
