Hi guys ...

have a question here ... is there an Airport card inside the Base Station? for example, the old Base Station willl has the old Airport card inside ... and the new Extreme Base Station will has the Airport Extreme card inside ... if that's true, does the Airport card works with its respective compatible machine? thanks in advance!
Best regards from,

The Graphite Base Station had an Orinoco card in it. ONLY an AirPort card will work in an original AirPort card slot.

AirPort Extreme cards are a completely different form-factor from the PC card-like original cards; Extreme cards are mini-PCI cards.

There are a LOT of wireless base stations out there, but none that I know of has a genuine Apple AirPort card in it. Try eBay, there are often a lot of "interesting" things for sale there.

Apple doesn't sell the original card anymore, but that shouldn't keep you from finding a working card.
