Look closer
Full transparancy would probably mean no longer clickable.
I'm new to Adium, but I would perhaps match the list background color with the desktop.

That's what I was thinking too (and I suppose the reason why it's not possible, not in Adium itself, at least).

I'm new to Adium, but I would perhaps match the list background color with the desktop.
But look at Makki's latest screenshot: unless my eyes are deteriorating at an incredible pace, or the colours are tricking me, or Makki cheated with Photoshop or something, he really does have a completely transparent background—hence me asking the same thing as fg just above his post.

Gerrit is right, the adium background is the same color than the desktop background.

But it's possible to have Adium looks completely transparent if you put the part of your desktop background nd at the place of adium background, like I did here (contains nudity, sorry): http://djlyzombie.free.fr/dotclear/i...bureau64_2.jpg

The same thing has been made for adium message style background and finder background.ba

I like how that window is transparent and you can see your desktop. What's it take to accomplish that? Can it be done with Tiger alone or do you need some extra utility?

Here's mine...i've been playing with widgets now that Yahoo bought Konfabulator and made the software free. It is a lot more convenient than the dashboard.

Lovely setup, everything matches. Thumbsup for the original Dock approach.
Too bad there's not a single window showing…
And you probably know you can disable the 1 pixel line of Sidenote.

HD things? Do you mean the details next to the HD icon? Or the paw print in the menu bar?

Hey, just wanted to say that I was able to make the background in Adium completely transparance. But becuase of that I cant click it. Still possible to click on the text, just makes it more diffcult.

Had to change in a .plist. Set the opacity to 0 and Adium is real transparant.

Same here xcaliber. Impressive entrance
You may want to check out this Adium Contact List VOID by fissure.
Also, I'd be interested in knowing how you get on with the black screen pic. I'm seriously considering narrowing the white window titlebar border from 2 pixels to 1 for this particular case (see my own recent VOID shot with the colored background if you like to see it and feel free to comment - TIA).

Hi
I noticed on some of the screenshots posted, people just have icons on their desktops with no icon titles/labels underneath, how do you do that?

Hi all...

Ok...a few changes...

@ Ultraman ... do you like the dock better now?

@ Gerrit .. I like dark backgrounds .. the only problem I found was finding icons and such that show up...lol.. also, I'm not sure what you mean about title bar and what picture you were referring to, but I'd love to see it.

Also, changed the font .. would love the HandleGotD font, but I've already spend enough $$$ this past week on desk mod stuff (not to mention upgrading to Tiger and upgrading memory and buying a new external..phew!!!) lol..so it'll have to wait. Using the copy .. HandleGotDLig.

Also, found an application that VOID won't work with, I use DropDrawers, and if VOID in enable, certain parts of the Sys. Prefs for DropDrawers will not appear. Not a biggie, I just disabled SS for DropDrawers.

Any...Gerrit & Ultra .. better? All comments welcome..I really wanna learn this stuff!!! (even though it keeps me up way past bedtime..lol)

Thanks so much !!

EDIT: Sry to Gerrit, VOID theme is not the problem with DropDrawers, Silk is the problem, I need to figure out how to disable silk for this app. Again, my apologys to Gerrit!!

Here's the titlebar idea :

or my screen

Notice the white border surrounding the black area of the window titlebar : only 1 pixel.
I know it's subtle but personally I do think it makes a difference in a good way.

I'm not familiar with DropDrawers, but you're welcome to send me a screenshot of the problem so I can look into it and perhaps fix it (you've got PM).

I'm willing to give a few comments, if you promise not to learn like I'd be a GUI teacher. It's your desktop, and you need to feel good about it. That said :
- I'm trying a black background myself - hard to get used to though, but yours looks appealing.
- the overall black and white UI is radical and fits the VOID spirit completely LOL (btw, glad to see you use the white Finder label)
- I've never been crazy about the HandelGot, and probably never will. It's taking too much attention IMHO.
- I'm used to setting my desktop icons smaller (20 pt only !)
- the Dock looks like an improvement to me.

EDIT : the Silk thing just crossed my reply - OK

Xcaliber=>thanx for using my mouse icons, , but they aren't really good with others parts of the desktop. The problem is that they have a gloss effect and Void is a flat theme.
I would recommend to change dock background to white and use black flat icons (maybe http://interfacelift.com/icons-mac/artists.php?id=1349) or maybe text icons

I would recommend too to use squares dock separations, to match VOID
Hope it helps....

damn... should I even ask if I can have that mod? I sooo love the transmenubar but: 1. I only have the smallest clue how to achieve it, and 2. Not many are doing it right these days... save you of course.

P.S. Still want to merge out Royal Inspiriats... just haven't gotten around to it (you have me the ThemePark File a while back.)
