Help,
Suddenly my 2 year old Dell 24" monitor no longer seems sharp in certain portions of the display. I'm seeing a general blurriness on the left side of the screen. I tried adjusting settings in the display preferences but when I try to change resolution from 1900 x 1280 the computer either locks up or the display goes blank.
Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jay

Well,
It definitely is not the Dell 2405 as I just hooked up the Powerbook 15AL to it and it looks awesome again. Perhaps the Nvidia GeForce 6600 is giving up the ghost? It's currently driving the Dell and a 20" Sony HMD CRT. I'll try without the CRT to see if it makes a difference.

Looks like it is strictly related to the video card. Ran it without the CRT and there was no differnce. This G5 & GeForce 6600 is only 2 years old. I wouldn't have expected the video card to go TU already.
Is there any way to have it tested or should I just loot to replace it?

Thanks,
Jay

Great big shout out to Neil over in the Apple Discussions forum with this solution:

Open the Universal Access pane of System Preferences and turn off the Zoom option in the Seeing tab.

My 24" Dell display is awesome again!

Kudos to Apple for making the Universal Access pane universally accessible! Not every OS handles this properly (er hem Windows sucks at this er hem), but the BIG fonts and very clear controls in Universal Access rock!
