I use to upload pictures and movies via (homepage.mac.com). I also use to create iWeb pages which allowed me to make online websites via (web.mac.com).
With the release of iLife08, we have a new online website for photos and movies (gallery.mac.com).

I think it's a little confusing with 3 completely different web addresses and 3 completely different online websites. Each with the similar but different info. None seem to link/reference each other. None seem to fully replace the other.

I know that iWeb is more of a fully designed website than the others. So i see the difference in this site and it's not really worth discussing.
But is homepage.mac.com and gallery.mac.com are so similar. Does apple intend to replace homepage.mac.com with gallery.mac.com in iLife08?

I'm not even sure how to upload to homepage.mac.com anymore.

Also, it would make more sense if iWeb created websites using the following: WEB.MAC.COM and then the iLife08 gallery is WEB.MAC.COM/GALLERY
Now i wouldn't have to remember 3 different site addresses.

What do you think?

I think this has nothing to do with OS X.

[edit: good, someone moved it to the software forum.]

Got to agree. The web gallery is cool and would be perfect for photos in iWeb.
I too would prefer a single web address and he ability to link everything together.

By the way - via dot Mac the homepage still directs you to the antiquated old webpage setup. Shouldn't they have got rid of this a while back?

Yeah its too bad that apple didn't make it uniform.
You have the .mac site, which was created and maybe still used
you have the iWeb area
and now you have the .mac gallery.

Yeah I don't know why they didn't allow the option for you to use the .mac web gallery as the "photos" section on the iWeb pages ...

There is a way to link to the gallery, but to have the actual gallery used by default would have been a better option.

even for apple, having 3 online areas is too confusing.

I maybe thinking way too much into this. Is iweb, web gallery and homepage all the same with slightly different features?

Why three?

Can you have more than one website? Family and business for example....
