My understanding is that the most recent versions of Tiger (10.4.5 and up, I think it is) have the DST patch in place. And the earlier operating systems have their own patch.

But my desktop is still on 10.4.4, so apparently isn't covered.

What would happen if I just let it go, and then in 3 weeks it catches up? Would there be a problem with that? Or if I reset it manually myself tomorrow? Or would I be better off upgrading the OS? It probably isn't that big a deal; I'm running 10.4.8 on my laptop. I just wasn't having any issues with the desktop, so didn't want to introduce possible problems, when I wasn't having any to start with.

Just bit the bullet and did so this morning. Upgraded a few other programs at the same time. (There was a REALL--L-L-L-L-LY long lag time in the restart, which sort of had me concerned, but then it did reboot.) So at least the DST situation is now covered and I have the most up-to-date OS, as well.

If you went from 10.4.4 to 10.4.8, then there will be a long delay, even a 2nd restart in the process as it updated a ton of core OS files. Hope it went smooth!
