She put on a ton of weight during the competition, must have been feeding the girls very well! I agree that she is really not that great, I think the record industry sees that too... She still has not been offered a recording contract by anyone.

the chocolate chick sounds like a cartoon character on helium...and i think she's hopped up on some kind of stimulant.
she sucks!
as someone else said the second place winner will have more freedom in what she does and will be better off...
last years second place guy is a bigger hit than the big fat heart attack fat black guy.
but in the end it's all just a karoke contest...no big stars that stand on their own.

I can't understand how folks don't like Fantasia, she had one of the best performances of 'Summertime' that I've ever seen/heard.

You meant Hilary Duff with one L?
Why did you say that.... Diana DeGarmo, sweet 16.. blond.. that doesn't mean Hilary Duff to me.

She was good, no doubt. I'll admit that.
I just don't like her. American Idol is not just about voice...it's about personality. She only had the voice. Contestants with way better charisma and personality in my opinion should definitely be able to oust someone with just a better voice.

I suppose, but I'd put her above Dianna in charisma/personality as well. Dianna reminded me of a 16 year old Kathy Lee Gifford. Not exactly the personality I'd go for in a vocalist. While she was talented, I'm not sure she's nearly talented enough for a recording contract.
This season there were some contestants who had talent and some who had charisma, but practically none who had both. Fantasia was very talented and, maybe not particularly charismatic, but unique. She's the first idol winner/runner-up that I may actually listen for in the future.

The same parents named their first two children Snow White and Pinocchio.
Gotta feel sorry for what they named their fourth child.
Okay, bad joke, but I had to get it out of my head.
I'd assume that Fantasia isn't her real name.
Can we get back to talking about ice cream and sherbet?

Well she Named her kid Zion. She wasn't a bad singer at all It was definitely tough competition between the 2. They both are good singers and should be around for a long time. I just didn't like Fantasia because of her voice it sounded too cartoony She did do very well though.

Hmm maybe I should put a warning on the front page of my website= You have come here in vain!

She seemed real, down to earth, Approachable. I think that goes further than charisma. She had great singing ability as well, IMO.

What's wrong with that? I think it would be an honor to be named Zion. In high school I knew a kid whose sister was named Rainbow. Now THAT'S strange.

I'm actually just pissed off in general. I didn't like Diana either...
Like I said before, I wanted Jon Peter Lewis to win, but alas he was voted off. After that point, I didn't care who won, with the only exception of Fantasia - and look who won.

Ghost, dude, when you first accused the poster about racism he explained that he only meant "plain" by it. Then YOU mentioned Chocolate.
I gotta tell ya, when I read the first few posts in this thread it reads to me like YOU are the one obssessed with the race issue.
Sad really, as it has no place in a thread about who one the show last night.

ghost, solo, enough with the race issue.
it was obviously not solo's intention to bring race into it when he mentioned the word "vanilla".
now get over it.
