I recently migrated from a Powerbook running 10.5.8 to a new iMac under 10.6 and a few days later Lion. Just about everything went smoothly except for iPhoto. I don't remember if it worked under 10.6 becuase I had it for such a short time but with Lion each time I open iPhoto it tells me it needs to reload my photos or something similar. My photos do all appear but iPhoto freezes when I try to delete and clear out the trash. I am able to load new pictures into iPhoto, but I can't seem to delete them.

Just wondering if anyone else has had strange behavior from iPhoto under Lion?

You should try rebuilding the photo library. Start iPhoto holding down command and option and try the options displayed there.
