I almost forgot about that, the action chopper bit was done before on other shows, but not quite as hilariously.

Pretty 'meh' episode last night, though the ending killed me. Underscoring everyone's cluelessness is always killer.
Edit: Oh yeah, another Hatred pedophilia reference. Even though its supposed to be behind him now....

But as for last night's episode. wtf?

I thought of the Bart Simpson evil twin episode the whole time.
I very much prefer the Brock/Butterfly/Guild episodes. This one was too stand-alone.

I have to say Dr. Venture stole the show for me, his sass was top-notch.
That and the exploding robotic Dr Ventures placed at "strategic locations," like 7 in the front lawn, and of course the demise of disfigured Dean was fairly hilarious if entirely expected.

Simpsons did it! Simpsons did it!
Yeah, this ep was okay. The whole Dermott gag is played out by now. Yeah, he's an annoying teen. We get it already. Time for the pay off.
Where is Orpheus in all this? Where is Brock? We need Brock back! Sgt. Hatred is no replacement.

Dermot was played out the second he hit the screen. He's led to exactly one funny exchange on the show.
Henchman #24: "Who the hell are you?"
Dermot: "I'm Hank's friend!"
Henchman #24: "I doubt that."
Dermot: "Would you believe I'm Brock Sampson's long-lost son?"
Henchman #24: "If that were true I don't think I'd have caught you so easily."
Dermot: "I couldn't run because I have a lighter up my ass!"
Henchman #24: "Okay, now I believe you're Hank's friend."

Awesome episode last night, yet another classic Monarch story.
I'm glad the Monarch told off the moppets, awful little beasts those guys, and I'm very interested in what 24s skull is up to.

Really? It was a pretty blasé episode – little to no action or humor. It was just backstory for what we missed between season 3 and 4. About the only interesting thing is who the hell was working on the checklist at the end of the episode (Anyone got a screengrab?Lots of foreshadowing there)
...and as always a Sgt. Hatred pedophilia reference. We practically need a running counter or something.

It wasn't the best episode but I enjoyed it way more than Perchance to Dean. Maybe I'm a little to big of a Monarch fan, but his story had me grinning the whole time.

Okay episode. Hatred is starting to wear thin for me, but I like how the 24 character is evolving. I guess this season is going to be without much Brock. Which is a shame but last night's Dr. Girlfriend time almost makes up for it.

I'm beginning to think Warburton's absence might be the way they got [AS] to extend the season. He probably makes the most money on the show. MY guess is he'll be featured heavily in the second set of episodes (next year?).
Edit: We're halfway through this part of the season.

I was pretty tired when I watched the new episode last night, I'll have to give it a re-watch before I'm going to comment. Overall it was better than the previous episode, and I chuckled when I noticed what Phantom Limb was now driving.

It's funny/weird that the huge ORB plotline that dominated season 3 ended in such an unspectacular fashion.

I didn't hate it, but I found the end jarring. I need to rewatch it, because a whole lot happened very fast.
Why was the guild outside the compound and helping Phantom Limb? It seemed like they were having a conversation in a living room and then it cut to the guild sieging the compound. Did I miss a line of exposition in there or something?
I have a feeling that the ORB will be back in some way. They can't just leave it there. Not after all of that buildup.

1. Billy just coughs up the fact that Venture has the ORB without being pressed?
2. Did they explain how Phantom Limb survived? Or why he was visible again?
3. The two-headed dudes just strolled into the Venture compound without any of the Guild ops noticing them? They didn't surrender to them instead?
4. The safe had no combination? It was unlocked?
5. They kinda retconned Colonel Venture's death, didn't they? I'm not sure the tube was explicit that Sandow killed him, but it seemed very strongly implied.
6. ...and yeah, the ORB: anti-climactic as hell.
So yeah, hated the episode. Its hard to find anything funny when all this stuff starts piling up. Loved the future Doc bit, though.
Edit: ...and as always, pedophilia.

3. Dr. Venture said that he had to turn the security system off.
4. Is it really a stretch to think that Dr. Venture's safe would have an obvious combination or be open?

So yeah, I read that very detailed wiki and still don't understand why the guild was assembled outside of the compound. How did they know to go there?

Perhaps not, but its another convenient situation in a long line onf convenient ones. They didn't even attempt to explain it with a throw-away line.

Yeah, I don't know how they knew about the ORB. The Bowie thing makes sense if he was trying to block Fantamos from usurping leadership.

Yeah, I just found an explinations at the comments on mantis-eye.com
The Guild was there because Phantom Limb had stolen the Guild Charter, which would reveal that Bowie was not the rightful heir to the be Sovereign. He had to go to the Venture compound to have that honor bestowed upon him. Them being there had nothing to do with the ORB.
So why did Dean have to transfer power? Wouldn't Doc be the next in line?
This episode feels like it had 10 minutes cut out or something. Too much to cram into one story.

I thought that too, and then I realized there was an Op hanging out in Brock's old room with the safe that contains the ORB. Couldn't be coincidence.

Moving along, I really enjoyed it. There's something very weird about Seth Green playing Hodgman's older brother. I thought Oswald Patton nailed his part (I hope we're in for a few more celebrity voices over the next half season).
Loved the "Premature Ejaculation" line, which was surpassed only by the "Herpe" line. And 21 and The Monarch talking shop at the end was oddly amusing.
One note: So I guess Doc Venture has come to terms with being arched? And The Monarch has eased up (In that he hasn't killed Venture outright). Interesting turn of events.
