I would rather not take up hard disk space on my MBP with XP. Is it possible to install boot camp and XP on an external drive?

Thanks.

Not without rolling your own custom XP install and giving some of your internal drive to the installation: http://forum.onmac.net/showthread.php?t=1015

Apparently XP reinitializes the USB/Firewire ports/drivers at boot, so you need some space on the internal drive for the MBR to start, then it points to the external drive.
