Does anyone know when Apple stopped using hardware DVD players in their pbooks.

I think it was between Lombard and Pismo. Lombard 400 MHz had on board DVD decoding, (333 MHz didn't, I believe); Pismos both had software decoding.

You could try Apple's Tech Info Library for more info...
