I've been designing certificates for a web site that can be downloaded as low res or high res .jpgs and as Adobe Acrobat files.
Recently, Ive had problems with a few Acrobat conversions of Illustrator 9.0 files. I usually convert the type to outlines first. When that's finished (and there aren't much type/copy on these files, so the files aren't that huge) I then Save As a general Acrobat .pdf Ver. 4 file. Most times successfully usually the files are around 90 kb to 160 kb. With some recent files I sent to our HP C Laserjet 4500-PS printer I have had "Insufficient Memory" messages come up on the printer. The printer has 64MB of memory and I have printed much larger files of all kinds than these. Is there a Postscript issue?
Out of curiosity I watched the Print Que and to my surprise these files balloon up to 57 MB when they are sent to this printer! What gives? I have a link here to one of the .pdf files we currently have on the web site if you're interested in viewing or printing one...I'm stumped...any help or ideas appreciated...thanks.

Oh, and by the way, this is all on a Windows 2000 workstation with gobs of RAM and Pentium power. Why I am posting this here? I know that there are Designers who use both platforms and thought I'd hear what they have to say.
