So, I was thinking. Now that Apple has released the Apple Music Store and it is obviously catching on, there ought to be a decrease in file P2P users eventually, right?. Especially since the service will be released for Windows users this fall (and we may see new competitor services). Since porno files have such a huge share in file transfers/sharing, and since Apple won't be releasing the iPorn Store anytime soon, P2P apps will never fade away. And because so many users will want to use Kazaa or Morpheus or Limewire or Acquisistion to obtain their porn, then they are likely to download the latest Radiohead album while they've already got the program open.
I'd like to think that we could all peacefully use a music service, and I know there will always be some who simply refuse to ever pay a cent for their music downloads, but I'm talking about the millions and millions of people who support these P2P applications primarily because of porno.
Therefore, can file sharing ever be swayed from public interest?
( Or, perhaps Apple should sell 10min clips for $.99? ) Obvisously this will never happen, but good god, can you imagine the wealth of money that could be made - similiarly to what is happening with the music business and Apple.

my sentiments exactly. somebody ought to make a killing off it -- user-friendly porn without the pop-up ads.
But It's not going to be Apple.

well, porn has been the reason for pretty much all advancement in the net
we can thank it for introducing pictures, streaming video, broadband.
in fact you could say the same outside computers aswell. Nearly everything get's developed for porn or military, and then the technology gets filtered down to everything else....

Shouldn't be too complicated, much easier than doing business with the music industry - the porn industry has already fully embraced the internet, and already accepts the inevitable piracy.
I can see it now, bring on board Playboy, Vivid, and a couple of major European players and you have a great business model - there is, after all, an established paying market on the internet already, more than can be said for the selling of music online (at least pre Itunes4).
I'm positive, at least some of, Cupertino would have rather experimented with porn before music, business model so much more established - but then Apple would have been known as the brand for wankers - and 'Spank The Monkey Different' isn't necessarily where Apple wants to go.

I think Netscape should take this on, make it a special format that will only play in their browser, then they can get some marketshare back

How about Google, since they have such a relaxed stance on pornography?
