Oh god.
My PB just feel off of my top bunk bed.
The right side of it (15in) got all bent up where the ports are. It also got bent up a little bit where the cd drive is. Basically is just looks like the aluminum casing is all that is damaged.

What do I do? I have no applecare but I haven't had it for more than a year. Anything warrantable?

Warranties cover manufacturers defects..

Unless you can sucessfully argue that a manufacturer defect caused the powerbook to go flying off the bed, you are SOL..

Ya, I know I'm going to end up having to pay to get it fixed.

About how long does something like this take? If I take it to an AppleStore, do they do it there, or do they ship it off to apple?

I'm so pissed at myself right now.

Attention: Gravity will remain in effect INDEFINITELY!

Seriously, though that sucks. hope it turns out okay.

If everything still works, you might be able to track down a bottom shell and replace it yourself. Isn't there a site that sells aftermarket PB replacement parts?

Well, I have insurance on my book. I first contacted Apple. They estimated the cost to be around $600, with about 5 days of service. Then I called the insurance company. $100 deductable, and that is it. Not too bad I suppose.

They thing I'm mainly upset with is:
a) My mere stupidty to try to jump off of my bed, and expeting my PB to stay there comfortably palced on my pillow. It loves me too much, just wanted to come along.
b) The fact that I will be computer less for a week. I really need my baby.

Oh ya, and it looks like my "i" key is having some problems. Grrr...

Stop that sniveling, you swine. What are you going to do when the oil runs out and we're all prisoners in a corrupt theocracy, scrapping for food and tiny luxuries with whatever neckless inbreds are left roaming the streets?

They'll take your shiny powerbook, alright. And have sex with it.
