Alright, Apple is making cheap new versions of previously made products so people buy them.

iPhone:
- They make the iPhone, WOW, people want it because it's the Apple phone. But it is not 3G and it has a bad camera.
- Now they make the 3G iPhone... millions of people buy and they also increase the memory
- What next?? iPhone with a 5Mp camera or 8Mp camera who knows
They are just making small adjustmenst and rake in the cash.

iPod Nano:
- iPod nano... millions of people buy it because it is small.
- Next: the iPod nano widescreen... yay a mini video player, big sales.
- Now: iPod CHROMATIC... useless accelerometer, more memory, and a fancy name.. lame

iPod:
- They make the iPod Video... it's awesome, lots of memory and video playback.
- Now they make iPod CLASSIC! same thing but with more memory... no new ideas, apple??

Look at the big picture here. THERE'S NO NEW PRODUCTS. only memory increases, and fancy names.

I'm confused here. Are you seriously arguing that Apple shouldn't try to improve their products?

Yes. Then people wouldn't have anything to bitch, complain, and moan about. You know how Apple fans are.

Don't stop there, how about the computers? Remember when a new revision of the G4 was merely a 50MHz speed bump? In all seriousness though, this thread has FAIL written all over it.

Heh - but in those days, those 50 MHz represented a solid 10% speed increase!

Hell, I remember when the new revision was a 7 MHz speed bump, and the damn thing was worth every penny of the $10,000 it cost.

I think the key is in the "biggest" not the "Apple" part.

Lip up fatty.

Apple isn't ripping me off.

I'm a shareholder and I like this little ploy you identified. Try to keep it secret, though, by not publishing it on too many internet forums. People might actually begin to know the truth: Apple wants to make money. Shhhhhhhhh...

No new products?

18 months ago, there was no such thing as an iPhone. There were smartphones from other companies, but none were anywhere close in terms of spit and polish. I'd say Apple did a pretty good job introducing a new product. 10 million sold in 18 months. Not bad.

And what about the iPod touch? I'd say that's a new product - not just a rehash of the iPod mini/nano form factor. I don't know any sales numbers but it seems to be a solid product.

Oh but it is. It's just that Microsoft wont be making it. The Zune software will be embeded in the next version of Windows mobile. MS want to do this not just for goodwill amongst their license operators, but also so that they can claim market share over iphone once it comes along.
