I'm a Michiganian, and I thought of Red Green immediately when I saw the thread title! Our PBS station used to carry the show here, but dropped it about three years ago, due to lack of support at pledge time! I no longer support them either!
Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

We used to get Red Green on PBS here in "the states", very, very funny show. I sometimes wonder if "Home Improvement" wasn't stolen from the same basic concept. Much funnier than Home Improvement though.
"Devil ether, it makes you behave like the village drunkard in some early Irish novel. Total loss of all basic motor skills. Blurred vision. No balance. Numb Tongue. The mind recoills in horror. Unable to communicate with the spinal column. Which is interresting, because you can watch yourself behaving in this terrible way, but you can't control it"

When we were kids we used to skate(board) ALL the time. We would use Duct Tape to repair our skate shoes. (Skating wears out shoes fast.) Nowadays, I can buy myself new skate shoes when they wear out. Trouble is, I don't have much time to skate. Youth is wasted on the young, but Duct Tape will always have a million uses.
Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.

I just want to know why the military calls duct tape (actually an otherwise identical OD green product) by the name "one hundred mile an hour tape." This has bugged me for years, and nobody has been able to give me a satisfactory answer.

There is also another affectionate name for Duct tape. Ranger on a Roll.

As Tim Allen used to say, "...and of course, you have to have plenty of Duct tape on hand. After all, if you can't fix it, Duct it!"
