"Album Art" for ripped DVDs

I drank the Kool-Aid and bought an Apple TV...that Kool-Aid is tasty!
Now, as much as SJ would like it, I'm not re-purchasing my DVD collection digitally; I am a fan of the Handbrake and using what I've already purchased. However, as I rip movies, I have to manually enter in chapter names and add "album art." It seems like search for track info and cover art, a la audio tracks, is lacking in iTunes. I would also like to add the MPAA ratings, but cannot locate a field in the movie info to do so.
Does anybody know how to make this easier?

Yes, Handbrake adds chapter markers, but unless I want something other than the default "Chapter 1," "Chapter 2," etc., I have to enter them in manually. When I right-click on a movie in iTunes and select "get album artwork" nothing happens.
If I encode a movie form DVD I don't expect iTunes to automatically find artwork, but I would like the option to search for it.

I use Google for artwork...usually the movie poster.

I thought the Get Artwork option in iTunes was just for the audio files, not movies.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

if you are encoding into mp4 format which I'm assuming you are if you are talking about iTunes, check out a program called MetaX. It's a metadata tagger that searches amazon to fill in all the info like art, title, director, summary, etc. You just import the file and check what you want, and write it to the file. Import to iTunes and voila. Great little app

You can always get the DVD cover from Amazon if you want, that's what I do.

I use a freeware program called Lostify to add tags (like summaries, ratings, release dates) to both movie and tv shows. It sounds like MetaX is very similar. As another poster mentioned, I also use movie poster art in lieu of the DVD cover art. Just google the particular movie's title but also include "movie poster" in the search.

Thanks for all the tips. I started using IMDB.com for the cover art, although I like the idea of the movie posters instead of the DVD covers.

I just pause the movie on the title frame and set poster frame.

As do I. Looks much better in cover flow, I think.

For sure, thats why I did it. Now if some ambitious programmer would make an app that did this they'd be making some money but the time it would take to compile the database of imagery would be a nightmare.

iTunes tries to do it, but, there's no way of knowing where the title graphic is in a movie file, unless it is set as a poster frame.

That's a great idea - gonna start doing that tonight.
Just tried it and the "poster frames" aren't showing up on my TV. Am I missing a step other than pausing the movie at the right frame and clicking "set poster frame"?

Well I found out it's working, but the poster frame only shows up in iTunes for me. The TV still just shows whatever frame it wants to in the preview.
Is that how it works for everyone else?

hmmm, Are you syncing or streaming? Im just streaming because I've found that scrolling through my movie list is FAR slower when synced than when streamed (odd); and using streaming the poster frames are showing properly on my tv.

I'm streaming. I'll play around with it and see what I can do. Maybe I just need to restart iTunes or the tv.

Thanks for the suggestions and links people! I tried MetaX last night and wow...wish I'd found it sooner. My AppleTV movie library never looked better!
