I have a supplied PDF that I cannot import into my Quark doc... I am using Quark 6.5 and Adobe Professional 6.0.2. The PDF is from such a new version that PDF Optimizer is greyed out. Soooooo... clever me... I exported the original PDF as an EPS, then used my Adobe Distiller 6.0.2 to make a PDF from it. Both PDFs seem to look exactly the same. I
Is this a good idea or is there something I should be concerned about?
(I know I know... buy the newer versions... well talk to Bush about the non-recession for me...)

PDF compression can be set to lossless, certainly EPS conversion is non-destructive, so yes it should work. There are a lot of options in creating a PDF, so look them over carefully.

You might lose some edibility with the text.

That's livable... all I want to do is import it into my Quark doc... it is a "final" supplied PDF from an advertiser...

If you use Illustrator to export as an EPS, I think there's an option to "preserve" editable text. That would make any changes a little easier after you import into Quark.
