Hi!

Unfortunately I do have a problem with your gui-pack.
It makes Shapeshifter/System Prefs crash! I'm able to select SoapSky and open the diferent styles but when I try to choose one -> spinning wheel...

Anybody else with this problem?

hmm.. weird..
It takes sometimes a bit to a theme to be applied but I never got any crash from the soapsky themes..
try the usual login/logout and reapply the theme. If the problem persists , I'll take to god (aka smeger )

Hi!

Tried login/logout, even a reboot, without success.
I'm still not able to apply this theme. Let me know what you
need in order to track down this problem.

PS: Just to make sure my Shapeshifter works: I installed new Milk theme and that one works without any problem.

MastaMind:

1. Can you preview any of the themes?
2. Which variation are you trying to install?

This will help us track down your problem.

Note: I downloaded the package again and had no problems installing all of the themes.

Hi Dave!

Unfortunately I can't preview any ot the themes.
My steps: Open System prefs, open Shapeshifter, click on Apply, click on triangle in Themes, click on XiDG-SoapSky1.0... wait - the Preview picture on the right appears. Click on the triangle before XiDG-SoapSky, list with styles/themes appear, click an style/theme (any, it doesn't matter which)... spinning wheel. After that I have to kill System Prefs.

Hope that helps

This is an issue with your hardware and not the theme.. As said above about your processor speed. If you meet Shapeshifter requirements, i would repair permissions and restart. You may also want to delete SS cache file too (Do a search in these forums).

It is probably not really a cpu issue as I'm running a dual G5 1.8 Mhz here and I think that should be enough for Shapeshifter for the moment . I already deleted SS chache file and rebootet. It must be a problem with the guikit, because all others installed work and I just installed the new Milk theme and it does work well.

I'll try repair permissions and reboot...

Thanks.

Edit: nope, repair permissions and reboot and again cleared ss cahce did not work. I still can't apply this theme.

Hmm.. It works for most people in this forum and others..

Are you guys running the latest version of SS? and APE? Also you may want to re-download the file and see if that helps too.

Sorry this is happening to you, it shouldn't be, so please let me know what happens and i'll try to help solve the problem.

Great theme! Congrats on the release, and you should definitely submit this to the SS download tab!

People getting a frozen prefpane when using this theme - see if /Applications/Utilities/Console is reporting anything from System Preferences. Alternately, try redownloading the theme from XiAP - you may have gotten a corrupted download.

I got a message in Console about an embedded color profile that I've never seen before, but everything worked fine for me, so I'm shooting in the dark. But it shouldn't have anything to do with your CPU or computer model...

Dual 1.8 GHz G5
2.5 GB Ram

no problems with any colors or switching - with or without log-outs... I did not keep the Console up to see what it logged.

Wow! Pretty good shoot!
Disabling Silk temporarily makes the theme work!
There is something wrong: this is what the console told me: plingSystem Preferenc[922]: [Silk] Cannot get FOND from Font: -8795

Thank you!

Nice try. although not up to par with your other stuff, xiap. All the involved parties has done a great job but it's just too much of a mix/match for me to use.

Anyways, here's to another theme release from xiapdev group. Or just xiap.

Thanks for the input Smeger! We'll see if we can find out on our end if anything is wrong with the guikit file. Just seems strange that our beta testers didn't run into this problem over the past 6 months. Now we have 2 reported cases of SS flipping out.. What phase is the moon in?

I like everything but the white apple. The lines are too thick or something doesn't blend in too well with the silky smooth menubar selected-graphic

Maybe I can offer my services as beta tester for xiap. My computer and I seem to be very affected by moon and sun phases or any other planetes crossing the sky as we usually run into this kind of troubles

Yeah! Running Purple Milk It has something to do with Silk. Disabling Silk let me install the theme. In the meantime Silk is running again and I'm able to choose themes as I like. Weird... I wrote a post yesterday about the console report I found. Maybe it is helpfull.

Thanks again and oh, I almost forgot, Thank you very much for these very nice and well done theme mods.

It's my opinion that this is unique enough to be considered a new theme, provided that Max agrees. (And it's my call).

DJ, that's the idea. Only with the green highlights, ie, drop down menus, scroll bars, progress bars, etc!

When can we expect this?

Well, it's Dave-O's mod so I don't know if he'd be interested in doing it and I don't know if I wanna revisit Soapsky right now since other things are in the works....we'll see.

Big Daddy P, I'm open for you modding my mod. Download themepark and give it a whirl. Shouldn't take you long to do if you stay with it. However myself or another member of the Dev Group probably won't be able to help you out, since we are all busy with other projects at this time.

Mine didn't crash but it went on thinking for a second or two and the drive went in overdrive mode.. So there might be something there...
None of the other themes do that but everytime I click on yours, the drive starts spinning like crazy... and I have to went to see the previews...
