Think about it. He was a 'cool dude' kind of computer, he had a sense of humour, his was a fun computing experience, and he made cool gadgets that were really easy to use (see the Holly Hop drive). No way could a Windows computer have turned out like him...

This post will probably make more sense to UK members, btw.

Well, he wasn't was he? Lets face it...

Most of the shots of him have a SONY monitor for a start, plus he's usually got the keyboard of a Commodore 64 or an Amiga.

Plus it mentions that he's a JMC computer.

Sorry to piss on your bonfire.

A JMC Computer?

'Just Might Crash' must be running OS 9.

Or Windows 98SE

Wasn't that Jupiter Mining Corporation or something?

Long time since I've watched/read Red Dwarf.

Can some of these people from the UK let us know about that movie they were to make.
After season 8 there was much talk of making a Red Dwarf movie.

Same info I read over a year ago. Although I might buy seasons 1 and 2 on DVD.
Is the BBC just kinda slow or are they afraid it will flop like the Dr.Who movie

I highly recommend the season 1 and 2 dvd's . The extra's are very nice and the commentary is hilarious. Seasons 3 and 4 should be even better according to the red dwarf site.

Just my opinion... I feel it should have ended a fair bit before it did.

I watched it from the very start, but the ideas to me gradually ran out by about season 4... Mid way through season VII when they brought back Kochanski was the nail in the coffin for me...

Peace,

Marc

(How they can make RD into a film and not the Hitchhikers Guide is beyond me...)

I was only referring to his personality. It struck me that it was closer to the Mac way of thinking.

I have been told today that the Red Dwarf film will begin shooting in September in Australia, so maybe it will be released in time for Christmas 2004.

which dr who movie are you referring to?

the one that got halfway filmed with tom baker, or the daft dr 8 done a few years back?

scratch that, they have yet to make a dr who movie the way they could. or should. ijiots. The BBC. same thing.

no, I'm not bitter.
