If only more such designs could be managed.

I like this a lot. Some of the items seem off center though, most notably the check box next to each song.

Well, he did it. First iTunes theme that doesn't look like brushed... something. I'm using it even if i don't use the theme.

Yes, but that's a MUCH less impressive manipulation. Changing the widgets is one thing, but changing the background just right is quite hard.

http://free-st.htnet.hr/crni/foobariPod.html

And i know Crni does visit these forums.. Maybe he would be willing to port it over to the Mac? Or maybe someone else is willing to try and make it work for the Mac??

An iPod theme in the style of GUIpod might not be entirely impossible, since it seems that iTunes widgets aren't limited color-wise (wibs' iTunes makeover is another example of this). I have tried to make the background solid white, but it has never turned out quite right. Someone with more skill might be very well able to pull it off.

He's already offered his .psd files for a port to Konfabulator, are you a "widget maker"?

I'm looking through the resource file of the NEOS iTunes skin...trying to figure out exactly how he did it. I am currently confused, since the image for the background (resource 1024) is a 128*128, which I would think would TILE when used by the app. Yet, the background of this skin doesn't seem to be tiling, which is the real amazingness of it.

What's more, the image that ThemePark displays a simple black square. Now that's just weird...Was something changed besides just the PICT resource?

Edit: the english translation of DSKY's homepage has a little explanation, but it's mostly unintelligible due to Babelfish's quirks.

ALSO: suggestion for a future version: replace the Apple symbol that displays at the top with something else. Such as the words NEOS in an interesting font, or something related.

There's the sofa project too, it's very easy to make skins for and comes with an sdk.

http://sofa.ambitiouslemon.com/

I made an iPodish type theme called snow, which when I get the time I might try push into an iTunes theme.

The NEOS skin is black and white, that's one reason why it works correctly. A greyish-blue would be impossible to get with the existing iTunes app.

now what would be hella cool is if the swiz man would be able to have something similar for his anticipated jet black theme. now how awesome would that be. and then the creator of the snow icons could do a black icon set and i would be happy for life...

I am aware of the limitations of iTunes mods
and was only trying to hint I was a studio pro user.

But thanks anyway ;)

Actually I did change the background to the same extent, and even more of the buttons and stuff than he did. Daisuke sure did a much more extensive and beautiful job of modding the main control buttons etc than I did though. I love the Neos theme so much that i almost gave up on my own for a while and I sure am glad to see iTunes theming finally catching on! This looks GREAT!

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

Lord Sith, and the others.. Crni did give me image filesm, but not the PSD files.. I don't have enough experience in coding to make this happen for iTR (Konfabulator) or any other app.. I would be more than willing to share with everyone if i could find someone to help on this project... I think it would be neat-o!

I love iTunes skins. I made my own for use with Pro Plastic a while back. This skin goes very very nicely with my Chocolate Milk theme, I think.

[Edit: why did I say whatnot?]

I can give a good college try at the coding, shouldn't be too difficult. When you say he sent you files are they individual? (Ex. left button.png, leftbuttonpressed.png)

Let me know, I'm game.

Oh, ProPlastic skin. I thought you were talking about Dave-os and Siths project. Ya, lemme snap a photo...

Just click the little minimized version to get the full-screen version. Btw, it really was a coincidence that that song was playing when I took the photo

I've looked through the rsrc and I don't see a single thing to change that grey! WTF did he do?
Oh, and it's not working for me. It just comes up with an error about the Music folder or something.

If youre asking about the grey in the ProPlastic skin, well thats in resource 1024. Its actually white. See, resource 1024 is basically an overlay for a gradient that is hardcoded into the app. Thats as white as anyone is going to get iTunes, for now. On the other hand, DSKY's NEOS skin has just a black in that image, so NEOS is the blackest were going to get iTunes. Can you be a bit more specific about the Music folder?
