PANIC!!!

I needed to do some file reshuffling, so I took the external hard drive that was attatched to my AEBS, and plugged it into my computer along with my local Time Machine Drive, via a USB hub. Lo and behold, these disks that were working just seconds before came up with craploads of Disk Errors in Disk Utility. My Time Machine Drive regressed so much that it forgot its name and won't mount. My other hard drive was able to be repaired on one Partition, but the other one Disk Utility couldn't do anything about.

I don't really know what I'm asking for here but... any insight? Is it just Disk Utility screwing up? It seems half the time it cant repair stuff anyway.
