"Embark on a quiet adventure and watch wildlife gather at Pete's Pond. Baby baboons scurry in the dust. Wildebeests push and shove to make room at the watering hole. Warthogs wallow in the mud. Catch these moments and more in these"

Amazing how popular this particular cam has become all of a sudden. Third forum I've seen it on. It's just a bit of water, innit?

The frog must be gone now. I see an elephant standing next to the pond. The camera moved around some.

The elephant is now moving out of field.

I wonder what the deal was with the frog. I didn't see it. I wonder how they got it off the camera.

Back to the elephant. The elephant has layed down into the pond poking his trunk up out of the water to breath.

This is so cool!

The camera is automated at night, but not during the day.

"The ops center at Pete's Pond is situated in the wooden 'hide' overlooking the waterhole. The camera is in the bell housing at the top of the long pole, the floodlights are midway up the poles and the directional microphone is on the tripod below the floodlights. Mariaan, our volunteer camera operator, operates the camera via computer from within the hide. See the photies, which will hopefully accompany this note"

Pretty neat stuff. Saw an elephant and jackal last night; this morning had tons of birds and other stuff.

Oh, look. A lion! And a tiger...
Waittaminnit... there aren't tigers in africa! That's a kid in a tigger costume! And that's not a lion! That's a golden retriever with some fake fur tied around its neck! And the watering hole... is a kid's wading pool buried in the ground! Goddamn it lads! We've been had!
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

I love prizes linked from outside images. Ones that can't be displayed. Ahh... the memories.

Is the webcam loading for anyone?
I saw a crocodile eat something earlier, but the autofocus kept messing it up. Then later a hyena looking critter came, then a lion, then a bunch of elephants. Cool!

I thought it would be cool until I realized it was Real Media. Then I remembered how you could encode the coolest most amazing thing in the world in real media and it would suddenly be not even worth watching.

Pete's Pond is a stupid name. It should have an African name. Like Zulu's Pond or something.
