If he had just talked about Jesus, I would not have made that specific comment.
Honestly, if there was aliens I would think it was weird too.

Where was the aliens?

I'm not really sure what's going on in the picture, but it seems pretty creepy to me.

After closely looking at the start page again, I'm almost 100% sure that it was some kind of joke/hack. But with the way things are going these days a lot of people (including me) are a bit "jumpy" when it comes to these issues.

Time to lighten up and enjoy some good jokes here and there.

Not only that, he better not let tooki see him post that in here.

Anyhow, I think there are people in here that have a "phobia" for religious things. Maybe even just Jesus. (They are calling them "jesusphobes") It makes them very uncomfortable, like say someone that was afraid of heights.

You ask them why, and they really don't know. They will say "I don't know, it just makes me feel uncomfortable"

I would say if such a innocent thing made anyone feel that way, they had a phobia of some sort.

I fail to see the point of his post, was it to bash a church? Is it spam for a Church. I don't see any connection, just a oversized picture.

It is not a church. It is satire site making fun of Christianity. And par for the course, being purposefully ignorant of what Christianity is.

People who attack Christians love it. They should, they made it.

Not necessarily. You could say something like that to make your claim seem more valid. In addition, I highly doubt you'd need (legal) "permission" to post a reply mail on an internet forum.

No legal permission, just doing it out of respect.

I here thought to do such a thing was a well known netiquette.

Though I do find it amusing how defensive and paranoid people are getting.

No it just seems like the crufix for a t has actually nothing to do with macupdate at all, is macupdate a church? they're just trying to cram it into every last bit of the site. Talk about getting your day's worth. Having a crufix for an unrelated letter T is very satire site like.

You can't eat all those hamburgers, you hear me you ridiculous man?

No, it was a statement. You didn't like it, so you see it differently.

I'll quote this, as it says it better than I could

..Most interesting to me at this point is how people interpreted the site..
so strange how we bring our own opinions to everything we read- reflects so much on who we are and what we've been through.

As people have said Kevin, replace the cross with a swazstica and people would see it very differently. People are free in their beliefs but it's socially unacceptable to force feed it to people who just want to know whether Adium has had an update.

"Force Feed" Oooooh the drama. Like I am "force feed" all the atheist/christian bashing crap in here every day?

If it was a "pro-gay marriage" page I am sure you'd be singing a different tune.

Nothing was being FORCED. No one MADE you go there. No one MADE you read it.

You just didn't like it because you are jesusphobic, and it made you uncomfortable.

That's not really a "reversal" though, is it? Homosexuality is a sexual orientation. Christianity is a religion anyone can volunteer to be a part of.

"Force Feed" Oooooh the drama. Like I am "force feed" all the atheist/christian bashing crap in here every day?
No not like that. This is an internet forum where discussion on religion is condoned. You're the zealot in here! You want Jesus everywhere, and insult people who don't. Most people just find it odd to read through a preachy splash page when they visit a commercial website. Is it a good way to celebrate ones personal religion? I think not. I think many Christians found that page out of place as well, let alone publishers that have their apps on there

Busemann my belief is what I am. Knowing what I do, I could never deny my belief. Ever. It would be like lying to myself. I would have to go into the proverbial closet.

So it is the same. Like it or not. I cannot deny my beliefs.

Just as much as a homosexual couldn't deny his feelings.

And i'm not being hatefully intolerant all my family are born again christians and quite frankly after being exposed to it and immersed in it my whole life it's blinding clear that it's all a crock. Of course people are free to believe in any number of beings they feel like but if i have to listen to a sermon before i walk into a grocery store (analogy to macupdate.com) i'll probably go elsewhere. Business and religion don't mix unless you're a church.

Macupdate are entitled to post onto their home page whatever they wish. I am entitled to vote with my feet and not to use the site.

People who feel that they have to proselytize tend to be people who are insecure in their own beliefs - they need safety in numbers. The best way to further the future of one's particular religion is to life by it's tenements, a fact that is sadly lost on some of the more public posters on this board.

Had macupdate posted a message saying 'Merry Christmas' and told us that they had donated the Christmas takings to charity I would have applauded them wholeheartedly. As it is they just come across, to me, as a bunch of weirdos.

qnxde your words are hateful or intolerant, admit it or not. Just because you KNOW or are RELATED to some Christians doesn't mean jack.

That would be akin to someone saying "I'm not racist, I know black people"
Of course people are free to believe in any number of beings they feel like but if i have to listen to a sermon before i walk into a grocery store (analogy to macupdate.com) i'll probably go elsewhere. Business and religion don't mix unless you're a church.
Again, you are simply exaggerating. And Dramaing it up. Making it a bigger deal than it is.

A page you can simply click out of, and having to sit at a sermon to get to are totally different things.

Save the drama for yo momma.

and guess what how much of a discussion would be going on about Macupdate had it been just a Merry Christmas page. If there goal was to be noticed, they achieved it.

Of course it was forced, short of using javascript tricks to prevent window closure. MacUpdate is the same every day, you go there expecting to see a useful list of what's been update (hence the url) and it's rather a jarring shock when you get a black and white page of religious mumbo-jumbo, requiring you to scroll down, read through the text and locate the small link to "continue to macupdate" - it's like trying to find the free player on real's page. Yes, it is their site and they can put gøåtse* up there for all i care but saying you weren't forced to read it is as valid as "OUR LAWYERS HAVE SAID WE REQUIRE A WARNING SO IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 OR FIND THIS PICTURE OFFENSIVE PLEASE DON'T LOOK AT IT".

*hahah it's censored

Actually know, spreading the word is part of the belief. NOW, if part of them doing so is bashing others, then I would agree. Tak qnx for example.

I don't think Christians are worrying about number Mastrap.

Scientology? Maybe. Christianity. No.
