Hi there,

I'm about to buy a LaCie 160GB drive (a D2). They have this automatic powerdown and powerup feature. But the thing I want to know is: do I need to unmount the drive before putting my Mac to sleep?

Also: any experience on sound levels? I did a few searches and I read that there was no significant noise that these drives produce, correct ?

thanks

The D2's are NOT noisy at all and it does go to sleep with your Mac.
