Getting iTunes to Forget An Album

I just tried to use iTunes to rip a new CD (we got Abbey Road for Christmas) and it offered two different choices for the 2009 remaster. Without any more information, I chose the first one. Wrong-the track titles appear to be in Kanji...
So how do I get iTunes to forget about this disc so I can choose the right version without having to edit 16 track titles? Oddly enough, iTunes' help is not helpful at all in this.

Select the songs then choose the menu Advanced->Get Track Titles.

I did that. It sort of confused the poor app, which stopped seeing the disc. When I ejected and reinserted it, iTunes still saw it with the Kanji names for every track (except #1, "Come Together."). So I went in and edited the titles manually. The only thing wrong in the track data was that there was no composer credit for #5-though both of George's tracks were properly credited. So with a little bit of editing I got it all right and proper.
I just wish I'd been able to get iTunes to do it right the first time. This whole arbitrary "we found these matches" thing, where you can't see the track list, really bites. I have some "esoteric" discs that iTunes tried to match to something completely different, which was a royal pain.

I'm almost certain the text is stored in /Users/*you*/Library/Preferences/CD Info.cidb
Perhaps you have a backup of that file somewhere (pre-Abbey Road) which could be reverted to. [i'm not sure how well editing it might work... much hex inside.]
[edit: clearing out the "mp3" ID tags can easily be done en masse... just select all and wipe out (or checkmark) the desired fields.]

The data is stored in that file, but I don't see a way to edit it without potentially bad consequences. It's not just the title, but also all the track names-which were in a non-English character set. I wound up manually changing the track names, but am I the only one who thinks iTunes should have a "wait! that's the wrong track list!!! button in between selecting a title and importing?
