Know any? I am getting rude messages from people that are not from this forum, but are from my university. Can I automatically delete them or something? I use OE 5. Please tell me!! I'm off to class now. I'll post more later.

Are they the same email addresses every time? set up a filter to block emails from their specific address.

I found something. Mail.app in Mac OS X has a nice bounce to sender function.

The problem with using "message filters" with OE or NS, is being specific enough in criteria to eliminate the crap, yet not general enough to include wanted e-mails, e.g. mail lists that you subscribe to, like CNN, etc.

Spammers get more innovative, to avoid being filtered out. I've tried to reply with "remove," as suggested in most spam, but the e-mail is invariably bounced back as "undeliverable." This may be just as well, as I've also read that sending such replies is often used by the spammer to verify that yours is a valid e-mail address.

You can't win.......
