Good news, all you have to do is have your heart go haywire because of major surgery the year before and hope to god wherever it is that you decide to keel over has some paddles to set your heart straight until medical attention can arrive.

Fine, sounds groovy. As soon as they can find a way to do it, I'll trade with you.

It's really amazing that you have your head so far up your own ass you can't realize why someone might take issue with you posting a non-sequitur about your chronic illness in the thread where they decided to open up about having a near-death experience. This isn't a pissing match about who has it worse between a heart condition and chronic pain you clueless git. It's about having enough self-awareness to understand that maybe it wasn't the place to make things about yourself. And if you had any conscience, you might have bowed out of the thread right afterwards, instead of spending the last few posts trying to rationalize and equalize your illness to my condition.

How is it that a man who brags about his cars and his computer hardware and his super secret infos feels the need to jump in and tell everybody how bad he has it as well? Not satisfied with having it the best you want to somehow have it the worst, too. It takes a man with no self-awareness to cockily respond he'd rather risk dying before 40 than have non-lethal chronic pain.

Oh man, I missed this thread last year. Still posting, so you must be doing okay. Doesn't sound like a fun ride at all. Stay strong and best wishes!

Odd, I don't actually know any of you guys but it still feels like many of you are in my monkeysphere.

Oh I'm back to normal now, assuming I remember not to go through metal detectors and MRIs.

That said, constant check-ups form here on out.

You mean this hasn't just been us goofing off and bantering back and forth? Wow.

This was my assumption, which led me to believe you could handle some (intended as harmless) jocularity. I suppose that was a prime example of "too soon", mea culpa.

So I suppose the question is, when can a person tell that you're joking around?

I think the previous post clued you into how I was feeling.

Not really. First you make a post that seems serious (at times I can't read online emotions very well), then in the one immediately after it you crack a joke (yeah, 1%, har har, very funny).

So much goofing off in this post! LMAO
Riddle me this. Who would actually be serious about that? That's just... WTF, man?

Coincidentally, I just had my 6 month visit. They updated its firmware. 21st century everywhere. They also told me a new model got released this year that was slightly smaller. Oh and my battery is down to 90%.

Are we talking about cellphones here?

Do you come with an app? Seriously - to monitor and regulate, for kicks.

I'm sure they would have told me.

Update through NFC, of course. (Well, that my impression)

That's actually pretty freaking cool. Maybe one day you'll come with a wireless charging option.

Also, I'm hoping their firmware update QA process is a lot better than Sony's.

It gets loaded into a dozen chimps, and if none of them pops the clutch for six months it goes GM.
