Let's remember that while grab 'em by the pussy didn't kill his chances, it sure muted them for a while. Having sex with a porn star, while married, to a wife that recently had a baby, probably would have had some electoral repercussions.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/07/u...us-mcgahn.html
The special counsel in the Russia investigation has learned of two conversations in recent months in which President Trump asked key witnesses about matters they discussed with investigators, according to three people familiar with the encounters.

In one episode, the president told an aide that the White House counsel, Donald F. McGahn II, should issue a statement denying a New York Times article in January. The article said Mr. McGahn told investigators that the president once asked him to fire the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III. Mr. McGahn never released a statement and later had to remind the president that he had indeed asked Mr. McGahn to see that Mr. Mueller was dismissed, the people said.

In the other episode, Mr. Trump asked his former chief of staff, Reince Priebus, how his interview had gone with the special counsel’s investigators and whether they had been “nice,” according to two people familiar with the discussion.

The episodes demonstrate that even as the special counsel investigation appears to be intensifying, the president has ignored his lawyers’ advice to avoid doing anything publicly or privately that could create the appearance of interfering with it.
Legal experts said Mr. Trump’s contact with the men most likely did not rise to the level of witness tampering. But witnesses and lawyers who learned about the conversations viewed them as potentially a problem and shared them with Mr. Mueller.

Daniels offers to pay back the $130,000
Mr. Avenatti’s new offer requires the signatures of “all parties,” including that of the president.

I mean, it doesn't work that way.

I've also heard that they've received multiple offers to pay the penalty for breaking the NDA.

https://www.dallasnews.com/news/dona...-investigation
Texas officials are investigating whether a Dallas-area notary properly signed off on Stormy Daniels’ agreement to stay quiet about her alleged affair with President Donald Trump.

The notary issue is the latest in a string of curiosities surrounding the murky deal involving Trump personal lawyer Michael Cohen and the adult-film actress, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford.

A notary in Forney, where Daniels lives, did not sign and date the 2016 agreement, which was finalized a few days before the presidential election. She also did not provide a certificate reflecting whose signature she was witnessing, according to the Texas Secretary of State.

Notaries are third-party witnesses tasked with verifying that real people are signing legal documents.
"So I'm looking at this thing and what disturbed me is she notarized a blank signature line," David told The News. "What is she notarizing?"

The president's campaign then announced McEntee will rejoin the campaign as a senior adviser of operations.

FFS. Now Trump is threatening to veto the spending bill Congress passed last night, despite a public assurance* that he would sign it. Some are ok with a veto, of course.

The House adjourned for recess yesterday. The Senate, today. Congress will be gone for the next two weeks. Trump could wait until they're gone to sign a veto, throwing a flaming dumpster full of poop at the fan.

* Per Politico:
"Let's cut right to the chase. Is the president going to sign the bill? Yes. Why? Because it funds his priorities," White House Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney told reporters on Thursday.

It's a grandstand. He's just doing it to show his power and to get attention. I'll eat a figurative hat if he vetoes it.

I'm gonna be honest, on the list of things his supporters would turn on him for, Trump signing a bill funding the government wasn't in my top 10. Holy shit has the anger been surprising. Even if blows over tomorrow, it feels more lit than when he agreed to DACA.

I’m genuinely puzzled as to why the use of chemical weapons in Syria makes Trump criticize Russia, but not the use of chemical weapons in London.
I am too. Best I can muster:
The Syria attack makes him look weak after announcing he wanted to leave
The Syria attack gives ammo to his generals to argue for staying when he wants to leave

I have agreed with the historically cooperative, disciplined approach that we have engaged in with Robert Mueller (Unlike the Clintons!). I have full confidence in Ty Cobb, my Special Counsel, and have been fully advised throughout each phase of this process.
I feel safe saying he didn't write this. Or if he did, my first reaction was "blink twice if they're holding a gun to your head."

Indeed. Lying to the FBI will be rewarded with a pardon by Trump.

Yeah. Kind of surprising. Did they get this way after the first airstrike he ordered last year?

Doesn't surprise me at all, his isolationism was a rallying point.

I thought the outrage over him signing the funding was way more surprising.

Ditto.

There is an important distinction now: He hired John Bolton and his supporters were not pleased to see that. The airstrike could easily be viewed as proof of his rising influence.

Well this has some potential. Which of Trump's big promises do you think his followers were and weren't serious about?

Swamp draining was one, but as you've noted it means too many things to too many people. Not legit.
Stop being world police was legit.
The wall was legit.
Fiscal responsibility I did not think was legit.

Muslim ban. (Isolationism)
I think you're alluding to murdering the families of terrorists. I can parse this to mean they were ok with killing non-state actors, but not a nation-state like Syria. Also they may have been imagining only drone-strikes.

How was swamp-draining legit? He drained the swap water and replaced it with toxic waste and they cheered.
Haven't seen much sign of this wall yet either. And not much fuss about the lack of it.
The only thing they really cared about was tax cuts.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

For large corporations and the 1% - other tax cuts are temporary.
Also recall health insurance. It's been quiet recently, but they really, REALLY want to eliminate health insurance for the working class.
