I'm considering to get Expressions Media, which was formerly called iView.
It was then bought by Microsoft.
I have been recommended this software several times, but have an aversion to buy anything Microsoft.
What's your take on Microsoft's apps for the Mac?
Do you own/use Expressions Media? Please tell me, what you think.

To answer my own question after some research:
No, I wouldn't trust Microsoft to keep the Mac version on the level.
Already, the Mac version supports less video formats than the Windows version.

MS need to pay more attention to the names of their apps. They now have at least two completely unrelated apps they bought from other companies, both of which are called ‘Expression’ something. Crazy.

I guess they want to create some feeling of completeness.
Like Adobe with its "Creative Suite".
(And still: Apple's Final Cut Pro beats Adobe's Premiere).

I have to say that's not really accurate. As a data asset management software, expressions media beats the others by far.
The concern I have is just: do you want to rely on Microsoft powering your Apple based image and video collection?

I've used iView for a long time, and tried the Expression Media demo. I didn't care for the demo. It installed extra junk in other places besides its own app bundle. I'm sticking with iVew 3 as long as I can. It's lean and mean and there's nothing that scrolls faster through 10,000+ images.
