I took my phone to the genius bar because I was having trouble with GPS. After running a diagnostic, the screen showed that 22% of my calls had been dropped and he immediately offered me a replacement which I took. I had been having issues with calls but for me that was less annoying than the GPS not working.
Just wondering if anyone had this diagnostic run and what the dropped call percentage was?

I want to know how they run that test.
As for me I have had ZERO dropped calls in the 3 weeks I have had the 3G. I get 3G reception 95% of the places I go.
I don't think replacing the phone will help, sounds more like software bugs.

You may be right. I didn't ask for the replacement--just wanted him to fix GPS. The fact that he automatically replaced my phone based on a certain dropped call percentage tells me that I crossed some type of service threshold.

Interesting. I've actually had far fewer dropped calls on my 3G compared to my original iPhone.

I have not had the diagnostic run, but I have not had any dropped calls. Perfect reception so far.

I have a friend that test done on her old iPhone which was dropping calls like crazy. The test said she was only dropping 3% of calls, which is completely inaccurate. He wouldn't tell her what the threshold was, though. And since they are the only ones that can see the data, she was stuck. She decided to get a new iPhone.
It would be nice to see that data, though.

It would seem like a simple enough application to create right?

My number of dropped calls dropped dramatically after the 2.1 upgrade. Were these phones that had high percentages of dropped calls running 2.1?

I haven't had any dropped calls.
OT my beef is the low speaker phone/headset volume.
