It was a long time since I'd been to the Political Lounge. It's still the sleezy S&M club of intellectual discourse that it always was. Thread after thread was like a regular brain being beaten into submission by a mob of kinky, leather-harness-wearing midget brains. They swarm, they grapple, they go for the nads. It's a brutal display.

But by concentrating such combatants in one place, the political lounge provides a useful waste management system for the rest of the Internet. And for that realization, Thanksgiving Day will be a little brighter for me this year.

Yeah, I guess Political Lounge is quite the oxymoron. Battleground may be more appropriate.

Funny, I don't really mind the political lounge. People on other forums seem just as combative.

I posted, I left. I dunno what the status of those threads are, now. And I don't care.

If you say an angry swarm of halfwits fanned the flames of ignorance after I left, I'll just have to believe you. I know that's what counts for "win" and "lose" there. That's why I left. No one really cares about the truth -- they just want mental masturbation. Not my kick.

That's one thing I'll never understand about you: How you think that a debate on the internet can be lost or won. That said, I'm incredibly glad I don't post or even go there anymore. That place is bad for one's mental health. Let Bush/Kerry/Saddam/the USA/the EU/all the world's religions/Israel/Palestine/Political fanatics stew in their own fat.

I've gone to the political lounge all of 3 times. Its the same as it always is: A pile of people arguing pointlessly. Every last one of them thinks that they 100% right, and so on. Its just disgusting how blind these people are. Having opinions is fine, arguing pointlessly with people over them isn't. To top it all off them have no respect for the people they're protracting that endless flame-war with.

I don't visit there, it would be too sad & depressing.
