Hey there,
I need to send a lot of images (.jpg and .gif) from my Mac to a PC. I was thinking about using CocoaZip v.3 for this. My question, since this is for work, is:

Does .zip'ing images degrade their quality once they are unzip'ed?

Thanks so much,
BD

Don't know about Cocoa Zip, I use the finders built in zip. I do know that saving as Jpg and gif degrades quality tho.

Hey,
Yeah... I know that .jpg and .gif degrade quality, and am happy with what I've got. I was wondering if .zip'ing them would degrade them even moreso.

Thanks,
BD

No it won't but it may not reduce the file size as jpg and gif are already compressed file formats.

That sounds perfect, as I simply want ease of transport in one file (not further compression). Thanks!

If zipping could cause image degradation, it would also make text documents unreadable. Eep!
