Doesn't it make you crazy when you get robbed? I got in my truck this morning to take my girlfriend to work and saw that my back window had been jacked open in the middle of the night. They grabbed my iPod and they grabbed my new m515. I'm sure this has happened to some of you but my m515 was my lifeline (at least it was backed up) and my iPod had all of my music on it. I doubt it's covered by insurance. It is going to take a very long time to save up and replace this stuff.. ****es me off. I hope I find the son of a bitch that jacked it..

You left your iPod & Palm in your truck overnight? I think there's a moral in your story. What a bummer though.

My policy on cars: Don't lock your doors so that you don't leave anything anything valuable in it.

It's too bad that people can't buy their own iPods, though.

Ya some people are just really scum. They are what is wrong with the world. Sure they may not have much, but that is a life choice they made. If they actually tried working hard either at a job, or for an education they wouldn't have to steal. It takes will power to do set your mind to do something, and those who aren't up to getting this will power are weak. I have no respect for weakness, I have no respect for these kind of people. Don't hate them, don't really hate anyone...

So ya man, sorry you had to experience the darker side of the human species first hand. That's gotta suck too. You are probably in the neighbourhood of about 20 ya? So probably got loans or that kind of stuff to pay off. You were able to save up and get this really cool stuff, and then someone takes it! I think I can understand how you must feel, I spent all the money I have ever made on my computer, and if someone stole it, I would be really, really quite angry.

So ya, just keep in mind that you are stronger than them. As such people undoubtly have far more respect for you than anyone who would steal your stuff. You are the better man.

what's more likely: they stole for personal use, or stole to sell and buy crack? drug-related crime is quite bad where i live. what are your police like?

i suggest you grab everyone you see walking down the street with headphones on and rough them up a bit, just for the sake of it

I never leave anything in my car, and I never lock it. The broken glass would cost more than anything anyone might take.

That said, one time, I had a junky old stereo go on the fritz, and it was too big to fit in my garbage can, so I did the next best thing-- put it in my back seat. It took a few days, but someone took it away for me.

I bet they were plenty mad when they got to the pawn shop. Serves 'em right.

Sorry 'bout your iPod, though. That truly does suck.

Maybe it wasn't stupidity, just a case of forgetfulness.

I feel bad for being so harsh on people who steal, they have their reasons, but there is always a better way.

This whole idea of karma or however it is spelt, really does work. If you are good you will gererally get good stuff in return. See everything in a positive light, and one will never be depressed. So these guys are going to have bad karma and all that, and that sucks for them. It keeps them stealing, it is a self feeding cycle I think. So I guess I really should not judge them so harshly, instead I should hope that they one day decide to live a good life, or have something happen to them that will be a revelation of sorts... show them the path.

And so what if he left his stuff in the car... would this not be a sign of moral integrity, that the guy has trust for the world in general. It really is a shame when people loose this inate trust for things... but it is necessary to do this, or one will suffer the consequences. There is great good in the world, but there is evil, we have to live with it. So no, I disagree, m_brand0 is not stupid in the least. He is, regarless of what anyone says, a victim. It is not his fault that the stuff got stolen, it is the fault of the people that stole it, nothing changes that. It just would have been wise to anticipate what could have happened.

Probably not stolen for personal use, they've probably been pawned off for drugs or whatever. It is kinda dumb to leave something so valuable in ones car however, but we all forget sometimes. Plus if you live in a fairly decent nieghborhood you take alot for granted. When I was growing up in the "nicer" section of the same town I'm still living in now my parents never even locked the door to the house. We never had any break-in attempts or robberies in that area. Where I live now it's totally different, although surprisingly it also seems like not alot of crime goes on, even though it "appears" to be that "kind" of nieghborhood. I think my size keeps the muggers thinking twice too (gladly they don't know I'm not much of a fighter).

Like 110011001 said, KHARMA is a mutha-fu**a. These thieves already pay for the life they live in many ways because nobody that could be close to them and know what they're doing could possibly trust them. Likely other people involved in the same kinds of activities all watching thier backs and living a life of constant paranoia of being robbed by thier own kind or being caught by the police.

Was it lying right out there on the seat? Who wouldn't smash a window for an iPod... Not insured? Ouch. That sucks.

Ask all of your local AppleCenters to keep an eye out for it. Give them the serial number. Ask them to get the number plate of anyone suspicious with an iPod (asking dumb questions for example). I'm sure whoever has it will want to check it out on a Mac soon enough.

Maybe you should get a "man-bag" to carry your stuff.
