Alright, a weird problem for someone out there. On occasion my master hard drive is not found, and the system boots to the slave drive. If I let the system continue booting and then restart, it 'usually' boots normally.

I have OS 9.1 on the master and OS X on the slave. Running a DP450 with 640MB, and a Radeon w/15" Apple ADC LCD.

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Have you run any diagnostics on the master HD? It's possible there's a problem with the driver or directory which makes the disk slow to mount. Disk Warrior, Norton, et al should find this kind of error, Disk First Aid seldom does in my experience. You could also try re-installing the driver using Drive Setup.

I have the same problem every so often on my Beige G3. It is odd. Instead of booting into OS X though it just sits there. At some point rebooting will get it to work or booting onto a CD will get it running but the drive is missing. Weird stuff.
