whenever I try to open Netscape, I get an unexpected quit, an update is required for compatibility with the improved MacOS file system message. I cannot download netscape with Explorer. It quits, and Netscape help is no help!

You are using an old version of Netscape, and need a newer version.
Why can't you download Netscape with IE? And I'd recommend using IE 5 instead of Netscape, regardless.
Anyway, moving this topic to the third-party software forum.

Try an ftp client to download it? connect to ftp.netscape.com....
and see if deleting the netscape registery does much (in the prefrences folder)

Wow, I never removed the talkback folder, but Netscape works ok for me. Should I remove it? Does it have a purpose? I have7.2 and it seems compatible with OS 9.0.4 What's the deal?
