I use the endnote feature in MS Word when I am writing articles to reference the sources I have quoted. MS Word has a great feature which cleans up the numbering of references when one inserts them out of place in the document. You just select all the document and hit F9.

This feature worked fine in Mac OS 10.2. I have recently installed Mac OS 10.3 on my PB 15" and I am finding when I hit fn-F9 it minimises all open pages in all open apps to fit onto the screen.

I tried ucontrol but it only changes the fate of F1-F6. Anyhow all it does is obviate the need to hold down the fn key.

Any ideas how I could use the F9 key in MS Word?

Thanks.

You've found Expose -- which is a great feature to let you see what windows are open on your screen.

I'm nearly positive that you can change the Word "automatic" features. Look under "tools" and check under customize or macros. I know I've put in my own key commands this way.

Now -- you can probably change the F9 features, too. I'm recommending a slightly different way.

Thanks very much.

Word uses Command+option+shift+U to achieve the same function.

The F9 effect is very nifty by the way
