IT IS OUT AS OF SATURDAY OCTOBER 16, 2004

Download here: http://penguinn.com/dextop/themes/ice11.sit
Screenshot

*****************************************

On July 21st, 2003, i started a design project called dextop.
I had made a cheap theme for jaguar called Ice11. Since then i've been making themes that just keep getting better and better. But now I am going back to the start, and redoing my original theme.
here are some screenshots of the original theme:
http://penguinn.com/ice/screen1.jpg
http://penguinn.com/ice/screen2.jpg
http://penguinn.com/ice/screen3.jpg

and now, here is a mockup of the new and improved ice11 for panther:

This looks nice, BUT please don't take any of this the wrong, its just an observation, but why do you keep showing mock ups and never releasing anything?

I like your style and you have shown us some great ideas, but I would really like to TRY some of those ideas.

ya know what I mean?

The shade of blue is a little light for my liking.. but it looks great in the third screen shot with that wallpaper.

But because its still in the works.. ill wait for an official comment.

my original goal was to make a bright blue theme that was extremely smooth. And you know what? It still is my goal.

i'll start on the theme tomorrow, i have a good feeling about this one

This is -really- nice so far. Hope to see this soon, and I suspect that might be the case, considering how fast you are

If pulled off right, this could be the light theme that I could actually use. Never stuck with Milk for long, cause it was too white, but this seems to strike a nice balance.

i really really like what you have so far...

my only suggestion, or rather hopes, would be that you go outside the aqua boundary and not only recolor elements to ice blue. not saying that's only what you intended to do!!!, the mockup only shows basic elements...

i hope you can add icy bits and frost here and there, to make it stand out as something very chilly and cold... give me some shivers!!!

every element will be based on the push buttons from the mockup
bits of ice sounds like a good idea for backgrounds of the window and menus!

Photo,
Check out Androo's site. There you'll see that this guy is a theme machine.
I'm very happy to say that I've snatched many a resource from this fine fellows work for my own private mods.

Did I say that out load?

Ooh, I like the new menubar/menus. Although, I don't like the texture behind the toolbar buttons. It just looks like noise to me.

Superkewel, like ice
Curious though how a whole desktop of this would look, because somehow I think it might come even brighter than plain white. Please don't reply : "I'll have it in another color for you in 10 minutes"
On the positive side, I think aqua/panther buttons could blend in well - if you don't do app skins that is

Good luck wrapping this up.

if "ice2.jpg" is showing the current rollover state for the menus then you nailed it.

thank you for showing the evolution of this theme - nice to see the creative process - especially when it starts with a such a minimalist preview...

Maybe you could put the darker blue and the crystal behind the apple? Kind of like the tiger end caps?

Otherwise... this is looking awsome!

How would it look if you used that gorgeous right part of the titlebar (the frosty darker blue) and used it on the left side, under the widgets?

That would look sweet and make them widgets stand out more...
Just a tought!!!

Your Ice11 desktop theme looks beautiful, and I'd like to use it. Do you have a version for Mac OS X 10.2.6 Jaguar?

Please keep us posted on its progress!

Yes SS can install themes for both Jag and Panther, but it's still a Panther theme... I'd suspect it'd work to some extent, but it's not going to be fully compatible.

The theme's looking nice btw.

Great job!
I love this one, and agree that it is your best yet.

I've just got a strange problem with the progress bar: when it is moving, it "flickers" (a black border around it appears and dissapears)

Other than that, awesome!

Androo, you've progressed quite far in a short time. I, for one, would be interested to see you take on something challenging, like along the radical but effective lines of Section 9, or Mizu's Water theme.

Pretty cool theme! Not to be the one to rain on this parade, but I did notice one bug in the theme... the checked checkbox and unchecked checkbox (both normal and small sizes) are misaligned, so the checkbox appears to move up and down when you check it and uncheck it. Apart from that (and I'm not so sure about the dark line around the checkboxes to begin with, honestly), it looks great.
