I must be in the minority here... google searches haven't turned up anything in this regard. I wear my hair very very short (almost bald) and when I hold the iPhone to my ear, my hair snags in the seam between the screen and the chrome ring/border of the phone. Thus, when I finish a call and pull the phone away, the hair comes with it. It's more painful than you might think.. maybe it's just cuz it's a little startling. As much as it happens, I'm never quite prepared for it.

Anyone else experience this?

I've got a buzz and got no idea what you're talking about. Hair's so short it doesn't even come near the phone, which is on my ear?

oh man, same thing happens to me!!! I have a shaved head and beard (both very short) and man that sucker can pull some hair out. I have gotten to the point where I am conscious of it so I hold my phone at a 25 degree angle away from my head.

It grabs my beard sometimes. Sucks.

Yeah, happened to me a few times, too. Some of the cases that cover the face should help, but I don't like to use them. I've started holding the phone out at a slight angle to reduce hair snag and to reduce face smears on the screen.

Same here. It's a good habit for smears, for sure.

Hmmm... so I'm not the only one. I think we should band together and file a class action lawsuit. I've endured enough pain and suffering. Apple has been truly negligent in their design. I doubt I'll ever buy another one of their products.

I use a CaseMate cover that creates a small bit of distance between me and my shavey head, so no worries. So yeah, dreads or a case or some stubbly hair in the phone.

I can see where it's a PIA though. I guess they're all longhairs up in Cuppertino.

It's happened to me a couple of times, not very often though.

Still, I'm considering sueing Apple. Anyone up for a little class-action action?

Gets my sideburns every now and again. Not as bad for me as shirts with snaps at the top, though. The female part of the snap yanks at my beard (long or 5 o'clock shadow, makes no difference).

My hair gets pulled too. I have "normal" length hair, and when I use the handset to talk it pulls it sometimes. Guess thats one of the things we have to put up with when buying the first version of something.

Weird. I'm a total cueball too - I figured once the hair started going there was no
use and I nuked it all.

Tried an iPhone and no problems like this.

My MacBook Pro grabs my arm hair on the edge of the case. :-(

My issues with the iPhone and my hair/beard though.

Sometimes when I close my Powerbook lid, the end of my beard gets stuck in it.

Forgot to mention, when I have my iPhone down my pants (underneath the underwear, set to vibrate of course) sometimes my pubes get pulled. But I kinda dig that, so I didn't really think to mention it.

I have a shredder, and occasionally the ends of my mustache will become entangled in it - it can be quite dangerous.

I've had this happen also. Strange, it never happened with my first iPhone just the replacement.

Shave your pubes like I did. No problems any more.

Unless you keep it up....and the itch goes away after a while (or just get desensitized to it).

But, back to the main thread: if i am reading the comments right, this is happening to those with longer or shorter facial hair and "normal" hair, right? If yes, for those of you who have also had the pulling with more traditional phones, is the iPhone pull more frequent/worse? Or is it about the same?

I have "normal" hair and a fairly short beard (trim it with a #1) and it pulls my hair frequently... 2 or 3 times a week. Really annoying. I never had this problem with any other phone.

Ditto. . . and it doesn't feel good at all. I think it's more of the shock factor than anything else.

Every cell phone I have ever owned has yanked out my facial hair to some extent....Especially my old LG! Too many nooks and crannies around the buttons. I wonder if having one of those clingy type screen protectors would help on the iPhone? Are they big enough to cover where the glass meets the case?
