Whenever I run Iomega Tools or their control panel, I get an alert saying that they can't find an Iomega device attached to the computer. Yet, there is a ZIP disk sitting on the desktop, and I can open it, save files to it, copy files to or from it, etc.

I'm using an iMac DV, Mac OS 9, and I have installed the Iomega 2.1 USB extensions.

I tried getting advice from the Iomega web site, but had no luck there.

Anyone know what's going on here?

It's now pretty much common knowledge that Iomega software doesn't really work on late Mac's... Fortunately the Mac OS (8.6) Has everything you need to run a Zip drive without you actually having to install any Iomega software. So your best bet is to just ditch all your Iomega software.. Including the removal of any Zip driver extensions.. Just leave the standard Apple USB drivers in place.. And your Zip drive should work fine. Just a shame it's not really possible to use the Iomega tools! But I find that you don't really need them anyway..
