Thought I'd start the ball rolling early with what I feel may be released in SF this year
1. G5 powerbooks
2. colour screen iPods that link with iPhoto
eventhough its time for an iMac upgrade I think the the new powerbooks and the colour screen iPods will be enough for one day.

G5 Powerbook
2.6Ghz Power Mac
Too early for new iPods. Anything with color or video will depend on demand and that won't happen this year. Even the MS versions are only just coming to light and nobody knows if they will sell.
A new iApp centered on communications along with an improved iChat.

approx. 1/3 of NN will moan
approx. 1/3 of NN will cheer
approx. 1/3 of NN won't really care
at least 5 people will spearhead the moaning group, then they'll switch to the cheering group, and then they'll claim they didn't really care anyway.
the usual 2 people will sit there frantically making new threads, while watching the stream (if it's streamed), hoping the beat the other one. they know who they are.
each NN forum will be overrun with duplicate threads, hardly any of which have anything to offer, other than "OMFG i'm so getting one of those!" or something.
et cetera.

Exactly. Newer, faster, better this and that, knock the price down a smidge, and lower the price on older models.

3Ghz G5s, 2Ghz Power Book, 1.5Ghz iMac, 1Ghz iBook, 1Ghz eMac, all G5s of course this won't happen.
Doubt we will see a new iPod, of course we will see Lion. that's about all I predict... this way I'll be excited.

I predict that people will go and learn about developing Mac software because it's a developer conference; not a trade show.

1) 40 gig iPod in Aluminum extra features include color screen and album art capabilities
2) New Displays G5 Al Look
Probably down the hatch with the 17" display and introduce a new 17" Widescreen along with new 20" Widescreen and 23" HD screen in aluminum casing.
3) Faster Powerbooks 12"-17" across the board but still based on G4 line. Increased Hdd, and increased Graphics capabilites. adding SPDIF out/in to its amazing array of ports.
4) Updated eMacs but still on G4 line.
Wild Card Joker:
5) iPhone built in iSync capabilities and bluetooth device that can be used to make calls and replace the palms and other organizers out there....Tri Band capabilities for world wide marketability and comes in new iPod Mini design. Can also load AAC and MP3 iTunes as melody for ringing tones while limiting its capabilities as a MP3 player so that iPod and iPod Mini would still be King of Portable music device. I just want a phone that says "I Love Mac" and handle some scheduling.

Not sure how much to read into this, but would be cool if it happened.

Like several others I think that we will see the Rev. B PM G5 3.0 with an updated Cinema Display to match, maybe a 25" or 30". Preview of 10.4, announcing a possible release date.

1) Updated PMG5. Specs unknown; possibly just a speed bump.
2) The iMac might get a G5, but the eMac definitely won't. Minor bump to the eMac in any case; the iMac will get a minor bump if it doesn't get a new chip.
3) Updated iBook and PowerBook. Still no G5 in either case.
4) Updated iPod; likely just a capacity boost. Definitely no video, almost definitely no color.
5) Preview of 10.4, with heavy emphasis on Spoken Interface.
6) Last version of Office/Mac announced. Possible AppleWorks announcement as well.
7) iTunes will hit 70 million, still far short of the predicted one-year mark.

I'm expecting March 30, and then in Sept.

Apple says it expects to hit 70-75 million by the end of April.

Microsoft is launching Office 2004 this Spring. They have a special unit to work on Mac Software, So I can't imagine that's possible!

WWDC == Apple's new summer trade show. Sad but true.

I'd love to see some news on new versions of Xcode and WebObjects...
Xcode 2.0 should have Java CodeSense.
WebObjects 5.5 (or 6.0!) should have new toolset (WOBuilder is CRUSTY) based on WebCore...
That's what I'm hoping for... along with the obligatory early seed of the next version of OS X.

Both, actually. I have serious doubts about the possibility of another version of it. The Microsoft/Apple deal has come to a close, and I doubt that the MBU as such is going to last for much longer. At best, they might be spun off into their own company. At worst they'll be outright disbanded.
That's my prediction, anyway. We probably won't know if there's any truth to it for another two years.
